Workplace Assistants Changing How Work Gets Done

Time flies.  It was only one year ago today that businesses were introduced to a workplace revolution when Xerox launched  29 ConnectKey®-enabled printers and multifunction devices with simple and secure on-the-go capabilities, cloud connectivity, and access to productivity boosting apps.

These workplace assistants (Xerox AltaLink and VersaLink) are helping customers move their digital transformation forward and channel partners discover new revenue streams. Redefining how works gets done has also captured the attention of industry influencers.  In the past year, analysts and the press have written much about these products. This is not your average Throwback Thursday article; if this were a report card, your parents would post it on the refrigerator – or on Facebook. Here’s an overview of news from the past year: This list is not comprehensive, but it gives you an idea of the success these product families have enjoyed.

Xerox swept CRN’s 2017 Annual Report Card (ARC) in the Workgroup Color Printers category. “Thousands of solution providers cast their votes for the ARC awards,” reported CRN, which provides objective news analysis and daily reporting of events and trends that impact the IT channel. “[the resulting awards recognize] vendors in the categories of partnership, support and product innovation.”

AltaLink C8055 color MFP is CRN’s overall winner in the printers category. The top criterion: Products that solve problems for customers. CRN editors selected five product finalists among the technology categories for the IT channel, then asked solution providers to determine the winners. The provider’s ratings took revenue and profit opportunities, and customer demand, into consideration. The award quoted “[The AltaLink C8055] been very popular with our customers,” said Josh Justice, president of La Plata, Md.-based Just-Tech. “[It] has a large tablet interface that makes it easy to do copy, print, fax, and scan functions.
